WHY EVA MENDES AND RYAN GOSLING'S RARE PUBLIC APPEARANCE IS SUCH A BIG DEAL

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling showed up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, where Ryan surprised his wife with a birthday shoutout to celebrate her 52nd.

Soooo, why is a celebrity couple making an appearance such a big deal? Because these two haven’t officially stepped out in public together for over TEN YEARS. In fact, here’s a picture from their last official red carpet—the 2012 premiere of The Place Beyond the Pines.

If you’re wondering why these two go out in public together, Eva explained their decision back in 2023 while responding to a fan on Instagram who wrote “I really hope Barbie will get through the awards season just to see you w Ryan.”

“You’re the best!” she replied. “What a cool comment, thank you. But we don’t do those things together. Like these photos I’ve been posting, I’m only comfortable posting because it’s already out there.” She added, “By ‘not comfortable,’ I mean exposing our very private life that we value. I’m still dying to do another movie with him though….”

She also addressed their dynamic back in 2020, telling a curious fan (when asked why she doesn’t post Ryan to social more) “Hi! I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids. I’ll talk about them, of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life. And since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent. And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent. As far as Ryan and I, it just works for us this way, to stay private. ❤️”

So yeah, them stepping out on Fallon? Huge!
