It will be a very merry Christmas for Jean-Claude Van Damme fans. Three months after its release on digital, the action movie icon's latest movie will hit a major streaming platform this month.
Kill 'Em All 2 will arrive on Netflix on December 25. Directed by Valeri Milev and written by James Agnew, the direct-to-video action film sequel premiered on September 24 starring the returning Van Damme as Phillip. Following the events of 2017's Kill 'Em All, Philip is out of spy game retirement, having lived peacefully off the grid as he becomes the target of Vlad, the brother of the first film's antagonist. The movie also stars Jacqueline Fernandez as Vanessa, Peter Stormare as CIA Agent Holman, and María Conchita Alonso as FBI Agent Sanders.
Legendary actor Denzel Washington secures a major feat thanks to the success attained by his latest film, Gladiator II.
First announced in December 2023, the Kill 'Em All sequel is unique for being the first movie to shoot on the Caribbean island of Antigua. Italian producer Andrea Iervolino (Ferrari) brought the production to the island after his agreement in 2022 with local authorities to grow entertainment investment opportunities in the West Indies, with a focus on enriching Antigua and Barbuda through film and TV shoots.
Iervolino, at the time, expressed his excitement about Van Damme's participation in the Kill 'Em All sequel project and praised Antigua. "I am delighted and honored that Jean-Claude Van Damme has agreed to be part of this exciting project," he said. "The beauty of Antigua, with its unique atmosphere, will provide an extraordinary backdrop for the production of this film," the producer added.
Deadpool & Wolverine star Ryan Reynolds re-teams with Free Guy collaborator Matt Lieberman to bring back a popular vintage cartoon character.
Early this year, Amazon Prime Video acquired the rights to Van Damme's action-comedy film Le jardinier. The movie began filming on February 5 and reunites the actor with director David Charhon, whom he collaborated with on 2021's The Last Mercenary. Le jardinier follows Serge and his family, who turn up on the death list of government officials because they hold a state secret. They try to come up with a plan involving their strange gardener, Leo (Van Damme).
Van Damme stars in Le jardinier opposite Michaël Youn (BDE). Other cast members include Nawell Madani (Jusqu'ici tout va bien), Kaaris (Braqueurs), Ragnar Le Breton (Un Stupéfiant Noël), Carla Poquin, and Jérôme Le Banner. Sébastien Fechner at Rose Prods will produce the film.
Jean-Claude Van Damme's Kill 'Em All 2 will arrive on Netflix on December 25, 2024.
