GHOSTBUSTERS & CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA STARS UNITE FOR NEW THRILLER

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka will unite with Mckenna Grace, who notably played the title character's younger self in an episode of the Netflix series, for a new survival thriller. Titled The Nowhere Game, the movie will be produced by Erik Feig's Picturestart.

Per Deadline, The Nowhere Game follows "Carin (Grace) and Allie (Shipka), whose road trip takes a harrowing turn when the two young women are kidnapped by a cold-blooded sadist and thrust into a brutal game of survival. With a short head start, Carin and Allie will be set loose in the forest with limited supplies while being hunted in front of an online audience watching in grim fascination. With no sign of civilization and no way to call for help, the women rely on their wits and each other to evade capture. Navigating the hostile wilderness, they discover eerie clues left behind by previous 'contestants,' painting a grim picture of the stakes they face. As the hunter closes in, realization dawns on them: surviving isn’t just improbable — it’s nearly impossible. Carin and Allie must shed their fear and transform from prey to predator to bring this twisted game to its final, bloody conclusion."

Robert De Niro to Star in New Crime Thriller for Netflix

Robert De Niro is returning to Netflix to star in a new crime thriller produced by the Russo Brothers.

David Charbonier and Justin Douglas Powell are attached to direct The Nowhere Game from a script by Alex Pototsky. The movie reunites Shipka with Picturestart, who was previously behind her 2024 rom-com Sweethearts, which was released on Max in November 2024. After getting her start in television with roles in Mad Men, The Legend of Korra, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, playing the title teenage witch, Shipka made the jump to the big screen. She was seemingly everywhere in 2024, with supporting roles in the horror hit Longlegs, the disaster sequel Twisters, the drama The Last Showgirl, and the Christmas action comedy Red One.

As for Grace, she is often referred to as one of the most successful child actors to emerge in the 21st century. She initially got her start playing the "young version" of popular characters in films and television series, such as I, Tonya (Tonya Harding), Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), Scoob! (Daphne Blake), The Vampire Diaries (Caroline Forbes), Once Upon a Time (Emma Swan), and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Sabrina Spellman).

Mckenna Grace Will Also Appear in Scream 7

Around 2017, Grace began to book bigger roles, like Mary Adler in Gifted, opposite Chris Evans, and Paige Swanson in the CBS series Young Sheldon. However, perhaps her biggest role yet has been playing Phoebe Spengler in the two legacy Ghostbusters sequels — Afterlife (2021) and Frozen Empire (2024). Looking ahead, she will be seen next in the adaptation of Colleen Hoover's Regretting You and the seventh Scream movie. After being cast in the latter, Grace took to Instagram to share how excited she was to be joining the slasher franchise, writing, "Scream has been a default go to movie for as long as I can remember … now I’m quite unsuccessfully trying to play it cool while joining the cast of one of my all time favorite horror franchises. It’s an honor and I’m so SO excited."

The Nowhere Game does not yet have a release date.
