JON HAMM SHARES HIS HOT TAKE ABOUT 'WORST MOVIE' THE FAMILY STONE

Jon Hamm is ready to sink this stone.
The Family Stone, that is. After all, the Mad Men alum revealed why he believes the romantic comedy starring the late Diane Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Sarah Jessica Parker and more is the worst movie among his most-seen titles.
"Mostly because these are 'required viewing' for the holidays," Jon told Empire in an upcoming interview for the April 2026 print edition, "it would be either Die Hard, or—and this is a weird choice, but we watch it almost every season—The Family Stone."
"I find that movie fascinating," he said of the 2005 film, which also starred Luke Wilson, Dermot Mulroney and Claire Danes. "I think it's an inexplicably weird movie. It's got a rock-solid, jam-packed, stacked cast, but everything I watch it, I think, 'This might be the worst movie I've ever seen in my life.'"
The 54-year-old—who tied the knot with Anna Osceola in 2023—did start warming up to the Stone family.

"By the end of it, I kind of like it," he admitted. "It's unfathomable. I guess that's what makes art, that you keep going back to it."
And Jon may be adding a new film to the queue since director Thomas Bezucha revealed in November that he is currently working on a sequel. The creative process was especially sensitive after Diane—whose character Sybil passed away at the end of the first movie—died in October at age 79.
"I've been haunted by the loss of Sybil for months now while I worked on it, and so this was a blow on a tender bruise already," Thomas told CNN in November. "Mentally, I've been spending time in that house where I've been missing her for a while already."
However, the 61-year-old will only move forward with the project if the entire OG cast is ready to return to their roles. As he said, referring to The Brady Bunch, "I'm not interested in the Brady family reunion without the original Jan."
