CM PUNK HELPS WWE NXT DO ITS BEST NUMBERS IN MONTHS

The ratings and viewership data are in for Sept. 17’s episode of WWE NXT.

According to Wrestlenomics, the show averaged 677,000 viewers and scored a 0.21 rating among 18-49 year olds. Both are up from the previous week (8% and 10.5%, respectively). Last night’s episode, which was promoted around an announcement from CM Punk and continued to build toward its upcoming move from its current cable home on USA to broadcast network The CW, also the best demo rating the show’s done since July 9, and the largest total audience it’s had since June 18.

NXT finished fifth among all prime time originals, per Programming Insider. The season 33(!) premiere of Dancing With The Stars aired opposite NXT, and won the night for ABC with a .73 in 18-49.

Next week’s is the last on USA before they head to The CW — and Chicago — on Oct. 1. We’ll see how both those shows do soon enough. Until then...
